Drama makes the world go round doesn’t it? Think about it…. There’s a lot to be said for drama in our everyday lives. Sometimes we even create it ourselves just so that our life has some meaning and purpose, so that we feel alive.

How to keep the romance alive
You have met “the one” …. They are the best thing since sliced bread, every encounter is better than the last, you heart skips a beat when you see his/her name appear online, you can’t wait to spend time with them. These are the amazing days when you can’t get enough of one another. Three months down the track you are very much in love with your partner but how do you keep the romance that brought you together in the first place alive and smoking hot?
“The reason is you”
Madison rezzed in at the ‘Stuff Groups lounge as she regularly did, to see if any new designers had joined the groups, as she was perusing the ad/gift boards she noticed an incredibly dishy guy standing in front of the MenStuff boards. Being a profile perv (well that’s what they are there for right?) she read his profile and was instantly attracted to this avatar without even having uttered a word to him. “This is pure craziness” she mused to herself, “how can there be an attraction with no interaction?” Her IM pinged, as she checked to see who it was, her heart skipped a beat “Omg, it’s him”
Axe Darkstorm: Hi there pretty lady, are you by any chance checking out my profile? Lol, I know that sounds like a weird question.
Madison Kitely: *Chuckles* indeed I was, why do you ask?
Axe Darkstorm: Again this is going to sound weird, but I felt somehow compelled to look at you, as if you were sending me a message through the metaverse.
Madison Kitely: Ok well it does sound a little odd, but at the same time I have to admit to feeling a strong connection with you while I was reading your profile, apparently the gods of the metaverse have plans for us, lol, now who is sounding weird ….
Axe Darkstorm: Well then I think we should be friends don’t you?
And so a new relationship begins ….

That’s Life
Nobody said life would be easy
so the saying goes
but really what is the point of misery
so much unhappiness surrounds us
every single day
It is so difficult to want to continue
when there just seems no good reason
everything is always such a hassle
no one is really happy
Expectations so often unrealistic
others frowning upon your choices
and being judgmental
oh how everyone is so good at that
how does life get so miserable
what is the point
I am so tired of – “Oh that’s life”
Why must I be the one to compromise
just to keep the peace?
Well if that is all life is going to be
then life sucks

For the Love of Words – By Kari Ann
Words are the pixels that put together an understandable picture of my world. Words are the brushstrokes in a masterpiece—the fine lines, nearly meaningless alone, culminating in beauty and understanding together.
I simply love words.
I sit down at my computer and start typing—slowly at first, and then the flood comes over me. Words stream and flow, bubble up and mingle—until, at last, I step back from the strokes and see the picture. I see beauty. I see creation. I see a part of myself in black ink on the page.
Second Time Around© …. Prologue
Sheridan sat impatiently in the court waiting in suspense for her name to be called. “Sheridan Browne” With her heart in her throat she realised that the time had finally come, all the months of bitter tears and anguish, of her emotions running the gamut of despair at the impending end of a 10 year relationship, to relief and giddy euphoria at the prospect of a new beginning …

Luke stood at the window looking out across a stormy sea, thinking to himself that the weather emulated his grey mood perfectly. His pain still raw. His beloved Elaine taken from him so cruelly a year before. It was the first anniversary of her passing and he still felt utterly bereft. He couldn’t help himself, as the tears rolled slowly down his cheeks, no matter how many times he was told by well-meaning friends and family that he would be okay given time, he just didn’t see how.
In memory of Courtesan DeCuir
As the various events for The Relay for Life for 2012 get ready to kick off I would like to share this story with you.
In 2007 one Courtesan DeCuir arrived in Second Life. Courtesan DeCuir had been a cancer survivor. With that said she took Relay for Life very seriously. She even graced OD Designs once in tribute as her music Idol “Martina McBride” during Relay for Life to help those who were in need. And another time we heard Courtesan speak once more through Martina McBride in the words of her release “I’m Gonna Love You Through It”.
Second Life making dreams come true
I am incredibly honoured to introduce to you Johnathan Hiess. Many of you will already know of him in SL as he is a well-known DJ who performs at a number of SL’s most popular dance venues, and who can sing too!!
A more self-effacing person I have not encountered in SL. He is a man whose driving force has been to make a difference in the real world, especially for his children and his daughters particularly. But in so doing his original ambitions of being a DJ in real life took the back seat. He was 16 years old and playing at KMEL Radio Station in San Francisco, but his Mom and Dad convinced him that he should go to school. He went on to finish college majoring in criminal justice from Sonoma State. The market was heavy with applicants at the time so he joined the Marines.
